ABOUT US

Our fully licensed, airconditioned café is a light, airy room which overlooks Colston Bassett Store's cottage garden.

In these idyllic surroundings you can enjoy morning coffee with home made cakes and scones, freshly prepared lunches using ingredients from our deli, excellent wines by the glass, and full afternoon tea. Where possible we source locally and vary the menu with the seasons.

Although a cafe by name, it is a restaurant by nature. There is full waitress service, and table reservations are essential for lunch. We do ask customers to observe a reasonable dress code as a courtesy to others. Walkers please remove muddy boots!! The cafe is a great place to meet friends or family for lunch and combine with some shopping at the Store - we can accommodate a single booking for up to ten people on our central table, so why not come to us for a birthday lunch?

We are proud of our quality coffee and tea. Our coffee is exclusively from Union Hand Roasters, and is a medium bodied organic blend which works as well in a latte or cappucino as it does in an espresso. For more information visit www.unionroasted.com. We use Yorkshire Tea for our everyday pots, and for something more exotic offer a great range of herbal teas from Numi - see www.numitea.com - and leaf teas imported by Lee Rosy's Tea of Nottingham.

There is wheelchair access from our car park at the rear of the cafe, up a ramp to the side of the building and in through the terrace door. Powered wheelchairs can be accommodated.

For health and safety reasons we do not allow pushchairs in the cafe but customers are welcome to bring baby or child car seats.

Our no smoking policy includes outside and please note public access is confined to the terrace area. We do not have planning permission for public use of the garden.
