A browse through the building is a history trip in itself. The main part of the Store is housed in the heavily-beamed 17th century original building, while our bakery nestles appropriately in the impressive inglenook fireplace that was discovered complete with fire irons during renovation.

Crossing to our wine and beers section takes the visitor into what was formerly the Victorian living room of the building – with its delightful period fireplace and stripped floor. Numerous reclaimed pieces have been used during the renovation of the store, including charming antique office filing drawers which now house sweets and treats, a counter top made from French antique oak, and the conversion of mahogany barn doors from Norfolk into a top for the dresser unit.

The latest addition to the building has been purpose built and is home to our delicatessen - helping to successfully and sympathetically merge three different vintages into the store you see today.

Colston Bassett is regarded as one of Nottinghamshire’s most historic, peaceful and charming villages. Why not pop over for a visit and see for yourself?
